Israeli Subsection

The Israeli Subsection of the International Society of Heart Research European section (ISHR-ES)
The mission of the ISHR is to promote the discovery and dissemination of knowledge in the cardiovascular sciences on a world-wide basis. Membership is open to any individual (with or without MD or PhD) who is actively interested in any aspect of experimental or clinical research in the cardiovascular system.

The Israeli Subsection started in March 1984, Petach-Tikva, as the Israeli Group for Heart Research.

Became an official subsection of the ISHR-ES in December 1984.

Organized the ISHR-ES Meeting in Jerusalem in 1993 and in Haifa 2011.

Holds an Annual Meeting with an average of 100 attendants, half of them are students and young physicians.

Organizes a Young Investigator Competition since 1995 (the Rena Yarom Award), a travel award to ISHR-European or World Congresses.
