The Israeli Subsection of the International Society of Heart Research European section (ISHR-ES)

 
The mission of the ISHR is to promote the discovery and dissemination of knowledge in the cardiovascular sciences on a world-wide basis. Membership is open to any individual (with or without MD or PhD) who is actively interested in any aspect of experimental or clinical research in the cardiovascular system.
 
  • The Israeli Subsection started in March 1984, Petach-Tikva, as the Israeli Group for Heart Research.
 
  • Became an official subsection of the ISHR-ES in December 1984.
 
  • Organized the ISHR-ES Meeting in Jerusalem in 1993 and in Haifa 2011.
 
  • Holds an Annual Meeting with an average of 100 attendants, half of them are students and young physicians.
 
  • Organizes a Young Investigator Competition since 1995 (the Rena Yarom Award), a travel award to ISHR-European or World Congresses.
